| 07/01/06 Had to work all weekend so I told my man to go out of town camping with his family… SO basically I worked and then vegged in front of the TV, then worked some more. It was sooo damn busy. There is a new series on public tv [tpt2] called How Art Made the World. It is an amazing modern look at art history utilizing digital imaging and images of classic art pieces. I am in awe of it. I read and learned allot about art history, but this new information and these comparisons are amazing. The first episode explored the idea of why we
create the art and imagery we do. I remember learning about the Venus
of and how it was thought to be a small fertility icon. They examined
why the primitive people possibly made it, the exaggerated figure and
the way the sculptor ignored the arms and face. They even compared it
to small birds and how they respond to colors. Why does our exaggerated
human form portrayed in art really stimulate us? Even titillate us? |
| 07/04/06 Tuesday I’m not one for stupid holidays, but since my boyfriend was out of town I decided to have my closest friends over for a barbeque. I picked up Melanie and we went to buy steak and veggies. Then we met Amber and Keith at my house, they brought desert and fruit. I impressed them with my hostess and grilling skills, which really is just because I bought a weird Weber chimney thing that warms all the coals up equally. Then we just hung out smoking cigarettes and holding weird conversations about Nazis and the mentality that hates other cultures, absinthe and its alcoholic properties, Europe and escaping America, teaching religion in schools, free markets, world war history, and even childhood scars…. Then we retired into the living room to talk about movies and tease my cat.

| 07/06/06 Thursday Woke up sick as a dog and had to suffer through work. |
| 07/07/06 Friday Finally had a day off with my man, but I was bed ridden and full of snot…. We made a midnight run to the drug store so I
could get soft tissues and cold medicine. We made the mistake of going
to the ghetto side of East Side Saint Paul and ended up seeing a bunch
of freaks and ghetto superstars! Not to mention, there were these weird
bugs everywhere and Jeremy said they were these weird bugs that have
a life of one day. Wtf? I don’t know if I believe them, but I
haven’t seen them since. |
| 07/08/06 Saturday SLAYER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so sick but I rested all day and made sure to fill myself full of water, vitamins, pain killers and cold medicine. Then I put on my cool new kickass boots and dressed up and went to the Roy Wilkins Theatre. I don’t know how many that place holds, but there was AT LEAST 4000 metalheads. Its amazing, Slayer brings out every type of metal head. The old school 80s metalheads, the redneck metalheads, the no hair metalheads, the jock metalheads, skinheads, punks and of corpse the young metalheads. Children of Bodom rocked like Danish studs! Mastadon were powerful! For Lamb of God I was hot and tired. I banged my head so much to Slayer that I went into trances. I have listened to their CDs enough that I know all the words by heart and every riff. It was awesome. I sweated my ass off and had a blast! Even though I went with Jamie, Mikey, Jeremy, Brian and what’s his name, I ended up by the library all by myself after the show. I think some guys were hitting on me, but I was so exhausted I was concentrating on sitting and relaxing. And I smart enough to bring a jug of water with ice in it to keep in the car. I drank the whole thing on the way home and it was so refreshing.

| 07/12/06 Wednesday Had work meetings in the morning and then another late at night. I am so exhausted but what a crazy day… I meant to take pics of a building I have been coping out that is being destroyed. Instead Im gonna get up early and do it. I haven’t been doing many pictures lately.

| 07/24/06 Sunday Did the double movie for one movie price. We went to see Clerks 2. It was fucking kickass, even had a few metalheads in there sitting near us which made it more fun when they played King Diamond. One woman did have an abnoxious laugh during
it. Some uppity yuppie lady who was there with her young kids went and
complained to the manager. Stupid cunt. Yeh the woman had a rude laugh,
but why complain? She was enjoying herself! |

And every night I shut my eyes And every night I shut my eyes Ive had one of those days where I wouldn’t even know where to begin…. My day was real shitty because I had to get out of work and take Melanie to the airport for her London trip… Im gonna miss her, and will have a hard time surviving without her. Luckily I went and spent some time with her last night and cried on her shoulder for a bit. I don’t know what I am going to do while she is gone. Secretly I wish I could live in her place while she was gone…. The only evil thing that really brightened my
day was the car accident I witnessed right behind me through my rear
view mirror. It was like a small movie and I saw the whoel thing. The
car in the middle of the street which caused one guy to slam on his
breaks and the guy behind him rear end him. Then the guy blocking the
street who caused it went to drive off, while a passenger of the vistims
car ran after him…. Brought an evil smile to my face and scared
me at the same time.
