| 5/1/05 Morning snow led to more pictures. Why do we perceive the world so differently? Or is it just that I see things? Thanks to art school I guess. Thanks Mass Art. I miss you some days. Listening to 12 Rounds. |
5/3/05 Cant stay away from the Minneapolis demolition site. Listening to Daft Punk

5/4/05 I think I think too much. In the late 60s women wanted equal rights to choose to work for equal pay and the chance to be the bread winner. Now both the man and the woman have to work fulltime jobs, and who really raises the children? In the fight for equality, now women have to be both the career women, and the mother. They are now expected to work, and cook and clean and raise the children. I wonder what the next generation of children will really be like after 2 to 3 generations of parenting by TV and underfunded public schools systems? Listening to MSI rare.

5/7/05 I installed Sirius satellite radio today and honestly I like XM better. I listen to XM at work and it seems to play more underground music. Overall I do not like being at the mercy of anothers song rotation, especially when you are used to listening to CDs, which is like spending 45-60 minutes with one band. Also unless it is hard wired to your car, it sounds like a crappy radio playing semi decent songs without commercials… Luckily I bought the car unit REAL cheap [used] and figured I’d try it for my road trip. Unfortunately after a day I am somewhat disappointed. Especially since I paid $10 for an activation fee, when I plan on cancelling in a month. I really bought it in anticipation of Howard Sterns move to Sirius. Even though I will be waiting awhile, I hope its worth it! Listening to Sirius- Hard Attack. |
5/8/05 Well I have added new stuff to the site, and have gone through all of my scanned work and digital images. Unfortunately I have officially run out of time, I have to go out of town. Driving through a state near you. Plan on shooting more historic cemeteries on my road trip. Hopefully I can add more states to my collection. The MN and WI angels will be up in the next month so thats 5 states so far, 45 to go. |
5/9/05 I added exact locations to the angel pictures. I know a few of you were curious. Had a couple questions about the equipment I use. The square format images are shot on Kodak VC 100 or 400 using a Mamiya C220. The current destruction pictures are shot using a Canon 1DS. I will also be getting a Canon 10D for wedding photography and portraiture soon [hopefully in 2 weeks!!!. I still plan on using the 1DS until my employer rips it out of my hands while I cry and beg for them to let me keep it. I am taking such good care of it. See?? /End trasmission back in two weeks... |
... 3 weeks later 5/31/05 My computer crashed and I lost all of the original files for my website, all my hard work for more than a month. What a great way to get back from a wonderful vacation. I shot more angels on the drive, and had a blast [you can see me all hot and sticky on the scarred beauties page]. In the end I am trying to tell myself it could be worse, and maybe I can save the dead hard drive at some point. So this site will change when I get around to it. I bought the Canon 20D body, and will have to continue to buy bits and peices for it in the next week or so. I also bought a Canon 580EX flash which I love. I used an old pair of studio strobes last night with the flash and was so amazed at the images [thiking about displaying them somewhere here on the site]. I must say, its finally hit that me that this camera is MINE! Its all paid for, through my backbreaking work, I just need to buy a lens [I'm borrowing one for now]. Had a few interesting thoughts in the last few weeks, just didn't write them down. Trying to recollect... First, I am so thankful I escaped the South. I miss my family, but for fucks sake, that place is an armpit! Its dank, sweaty, stinky, and foul! Second, Sirius radio sucks. One day it didn't work at all, and other than the comedy shows [which I love] the music sucks. Might as well listen to the regular FREE radio. Third, what happens when techonology takes over? What happens to "us"? When we are cast aside because a machine is more efficient and cheaper? What happens to society? Will it be interesting, like an age of intelligence and imagination, where information is at anyones fingertips and we create? Or will me merge into an age of mediocracy? Finally, I read that the American Taliban [religious right] are trying to block a vaccination for HPV. Is it because it is for women? Or are we to the point that we start dictating who gets what vaccination? I am disgusted with the religious right and their ideas that they can rule my body? I thought you said we were free? Obviously we are NOT. |
